How to choose a prop firm without getting burned
Nine checks to run on any funded trading provider before you pay: rule transparency, drawdown method, payout evidence, company registration and support responsiveness.
Fees are the least important number when comparing providers. What matters is whether the rules are knowable in advance and whether payments demonstrably happen.
The checklist
- Are the complete rules published before purchase, or only after you pay?
- Is the drawdown static or trailing, and is the calculation method stated explicitly?
- Does the daily limit include floating losses? If it is unclear, assume the worst case.
- Is there a consistency rule, and is the percentage published?
- Are automated strategies and expert advisors allowed, restricted, or silently penalised?
- Which news windows are excluded, and are the exact times listed?
- Is there evidence of settled payouts beyond social media screenshots?
- Is there a registered company behind the brand, with a company number you can verify?
- Does support answer a hard question — in writing — before you buy?
Red flags
Rules that change after purchase, drawdown described only as a percentage with no method, guaranteed-profit language, unverifiable testimonials, and support that only exists on a social channel. Any provider unwilling to write its rules down is choosing to keep the discretion for itself.
Our position
Our full rule set, prohibited practices and rewards policy are public pages, our company registration is printed in the footer, and our payout wall is generated from the live ledger. You are meant to check.
All trading on Next Scale Funded is simulated. Nothing on this page is investment advice.
